A Breath of Fresh Air

A Breath of Fresh Air

Through these hard times getting outdoors to embrace our daily dose of nature is vital for our well-being. We can still enjoy heading out for walks and appreciate the beauty of  nature during lockdown. Can you inhale and smell the fresh air?

In 2016 I have lost my smell, I have forgotten what fresh air smells like..

Today, I take a deep breath of fresh air and I experiment with my new 50mm 1.4 USM lens. I explored my surroundings, capturing the details of nature. I observed the wind blow through the cherry blossom trees. The bright colours of the daffodils, against the bright green grass. The brown buds thicken on the trees. After all, March is the month that brings the first day of spring with the vernal equinox, in the early Roman calendar this marked the start of new beginnings.

These plants and flowers symbolise nostalgia, a feeling of pleasure and slight sadness, as I yearn for my sense of smell. Yet, I am grateful that I am able to document and visualise the aura of Mother Nature.

Be kind, be gentle and appreciate what you got today, as it may be gone tomorrow...
